This item is an ornatly decorated double edged sword. The sword is one of the few that survived from the Celtic period.the Celtics were very dedicated to war and swords like this one were prized possessions of whom ever owned them. The swords of similar origin often had human or animal faces carved into the swords.

Rome was a large empire hat covered most of modern day Europe and parts of northern Africa. Rome conquered most of its empire but still treated it people fairly. Because Romans originally came from Greece some of the culture was carried over to Rome such as religion. romans were great architects and built a large road system and used aqueducts to move water from place to place. roman social classes had few rich and many poor and were loose and gave people the ability to change their social class. Men were given absolute rule over their families.
